Shri. Siddaramaiah
Hon'ble Chief Minister, Govt. Of Karnataka

Water is one of the nature’s precious gifts to mankind. It is the most essential component of life and is vital for sustenance. People especially in rural areas suffer with many health hazards due to consumption of impure water. It is the political will of our government to provide access to pure drinking water to all rural people by 2018. In this regard 7000 units are sanctioned in last three years i.e., 1000 units were sanctioned in 2013-14, 2000 units in 2014-15 and subsequently 4000 units in 2015-16. Our government will take all necessary measures fulfill the commitment made to the people. This website will bring transparency in commissioning, pure drinking water plants in the state.

Shri. H K Patil
Hon'ble minister of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, Govt. Of Karnataka

Water is a lifeline. As per survey report one child dies every 20 seconds due to consumption of contaminated water and among those who survive suffer from many bone related diseases and other health hazards. I being grown up with seriously observing these kinds of sufferings around me in rural areas and populist ideology inherited from my father Shri K H Patil, always had urge to take out this social agony. A mass movement was started with a vision to provide on access to pure drinking water to all. This vision was translated to mission by designing unique model (Gadag Model) of installation of pure drinking water plant that dispenses all time water at the rate of 10 paise per litre. The pure drinking water plants were established in around 400 villages with support of Shri K H Patil Prathishtana. After Congress led Government under the stewardship of Shri Siddaramaih, coming to power in Karnataka in May 2013, this scheme was adopted as one of the flagship program. In three subsequent Budget Speeches government pronounced to provide 7000 pure drinking water plants throughout the State. Our government is committed to fulfill its mandate to provide access to pure drinking water, a basic human right of an individual.

I thank Mr Raghavendra Giraddi and Maninder Singh, Software Engineers (currently residing in San Francisco, USA) for designing and donating this website to the government.

Water, the miracle of nature, is the greatest gift to mankind. Life exists on our planet only because of water. It was in it that the first form of life took birth. Unfortunately, with accelerated industrialization and other human activities there is rapid degradation of water resources, leading to scarcity of pure water in many parts of our country. Yet today, nearly one billion people – about one in eight – lack access to clean water.

In the mission to provide pure and safe drinking water to people, Shri. H K Patil took initial steps by setting up 200 R. O. water purification plants accross Karnataka. As on today more plants are being setup under support and recognition of State and Central Government of India, and these counts to more than 1000 plants across Karnataka. Further Shri H K Patil had targeted to setup 7000 plants across Karnataka to provide people with pure and safe drinking water at down to earth costs.
